Power Free was a motorized bicycle which made Suzuki to attract the attention of the Japanese government giving him funds to continue in his cars and motorcycles research. Thanks to his continuous innovations, Suzuki motorcycles built better and better every year. It was in 1962 when Suzuki motorcycles won their first competition.
The company began to be recognized and respected by the 60’s by American and European motorcycle community. Being the Suzuki X-6 Hustler their best-selling machine in that time.
In the 60’s and 70’s, European motorcycles companies dominated the motorcycle world, when Japanese motorcycles weren’t that known. But between 1971 an 1976, Suzuki Motorcycles won the World Championship many times which gave them the recognition that they kept for many, many years until now.
By the late ‘80s, Suzuki had gained the respect of all within the racing community at the highest levels. One of the best Suzuki Motorcycles of this era was the GSX–R750. Its design and energy was unbeatable and, at that time, it was the lightest bike around in its class.
